    • Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy

    Child and Family

    Occupational therapy and physical therapy are beneficial to babies, children, and teenagers with support needs for many reasons.

    Both can significantly improve your child's overall quality of life by:

    • Promoting inclusion through sports, recreational activities, and education with other children
    • Helping to prevent secondary complications like muscle tightness or lung infections
    • Enhancing motor skills, such as balance, coordination, strength, endurance, and mobility
    • Improving mental health from lowered stress, anxiety, and social isolation, while increasing self-confidence, and the ability to handle challenges.

    Our therapists work closely with your family to address your concerns and devise a plan to help your child succeed. 

    Our physiotherapy and occupational therapy programs are available to children in Powell River and qathet.

    Although these programs are free, there may be a waitlist.

    Physiotherapy

    Our physiotherapy program aims to help children with various challenges, such as:

    • Physical disabilities
    • Gross motor skill difficulties
    • Developmental disabilities

    It is available for children from birth to kindergarten.

    We offer appointments from Monday - Friday with flexible hours and locations to meet your family's schedule.

    Occupational Therapy

    Our program helps children by addressing challenging behaviours and minimizing delays related to:

    • Sensory processing (how they take in and understand information through their senses)
    • Neuro-motor challenges (difficulties with movement and coordination)
    • Fine motor skills (tasks that require precise hand and finger movements)
    • Developmental delays (progression in areas like communication and social skills)

    Occupational Therapy services are available for children and youth aged 0 to 18.

    Your child doesn't need a specific diagnosis to benefit from these services.

    Support is provided in settings that suit your child's needs, like your home or Cranberry Children's Centre.

    Our goal is to make therapy easily accessible and convenient for your family.

    🪅Early Intervention referrals are now open (school-age referrals are not open).
