Living in a Group Home
Our Group Home Services are designed to maximize each individual’s independence so he or she can participate as fully as possible in home and in the community.
Inclusion Powell River supports people to live in group homes that are fully licensed, and staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Three or four individuals live together in a house, in a neighbourhood. Our homes have a family atmosphere. Professional, trained employees provide supports with healthcare, communication, personal relationships and daily living. Levels of support are based on need but generally include assistance with cooking, personal care, laundry, recreation, daily living skills and employment.
Some residents will choose to live in a group home for their entire life while others will make new choices from time to time, either to have new roommates, to live more independently or in another residential option like supported apartments or homesharing. Every effort is made to match the interests and needs of the individuals living together.
